Free Meals for Students and Families

All families and students can continue to go to any school building between 9:00 a.m. and noon on weekdays to pick up three free grab-and-go meals. No identification or registration is necessary. Halal and kosher meals are available at some sites, which are listed at

Kosher Meals

Kosher-certified meals are available at select sites. These sites are listed below and can also be found in the Community Meals look-up tool.

Kosher meals follow the USDA meal nutrition guidelines and are produced in partnership with a certified kosher distributor. Our kosher meal sites are housed in DOE school buildings and staffed by DOE food service staff. Meals offered at our kosher meal sites are free and available to any New Yorker that requests them.

All of these schools, and all of the schools listed in the Spreadsheet below, are giving free breakfast and lunch to ANYONE UNDER 18 years old or ANYONE IN DOE schools from 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM. You should bring your school ID if you have it.

You can use your school MetroCard to travel to get the food. However, it's possible that the MTA doesn't know that you're traveling to get food. If they stop you for using your school MetroCard, nicely tell them that you are traveling to a school to get free food.
