Meet Laura Pawson! Before joining the MCHS family in 2018, Laura served as a curriculum coach, special education teacher, and visual arts teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a Master of Science in Education from Long Island University, and a Master’s in School Building and District Leadership and Administration from the College of Saint Rose. A Fulbright for Global Schools Scholar, Laura traveled to the United Kingdom in 2024 to research educational equity practices abroad. She has taught at the middle school, high school, and college levels throughout her 14-year career in New York City. A native New Yorker, Laura enjoys traveling, painting, and bike riding in her free time.
